  Any ideas?

Hello there members of GF.net!

Now it's most likely time for us to run a event or a cup, or a competion of some sort of way! But, this will all depend on YOU. Yes that's right, you, and why just you? Because your the one's that want events and cups! So give us your ideas, about events we could run once, or twice, or monthly, for example the best config, or best script, this is all up to you! So get your brains thinking, and post your ideas below!

Prizes: You may also give ideas about prizes..

Idea list (Will update):

* Config and script event (User who creates the best config or script in a short period of time)
* Banner competion
* Sig competion

* Enemy Territory cup
* Hide and Seek cup
* Gangrape Thijs at valhalla_te cup

Just a few examples.. hit us up, tell us what you like.. the user who comes up with the best idea, a suprise (nothing big, but still something is awaiting you. AND NO it's not my cock.. so plz.)

There's no dead line for this, so take your time Wink

Well,
What's about to make our first RTCW cup? But if it's not working, then I'd suggest an ET cup on CB (maybe). Just for this now.

RTWC Cup:
To make a RTCW cup we'd need more audience = more gaming/communities forums connected to RTWC. We'd need to post about "RTWC reviving plan" on these forums. What is more, only pros stayed on scene (only oldschool hardcore elite pros, if there are any...). If we want to set up the RTWC Cup, it is vital to gather those pros. How? I don't have any idea.

ET Cup:
There are way more people who plays ET, the game is dead tho. It'd be much easier to gather teams. In ET the scene is divided on low/med/high levels. On which level should we focus most?

Other:
Let's leave the game & players matter. To run the Cup, weather it is RTWC or ET, we have to have gear = servers & prizes.

Prizes:
We cannot offer anything at this moment. I guess we'd better make a league then Cup. There are no awards after winning the league (and we'd have more time to get some prizes, only if needed/decided).

Servers:
Servers... I am not into RTWC scene, but there are not many server hosters who would provide us servers. We'd have to search & search for them.

Why you say 'RTWC"? It's Return to Castle Wolfenstein = RTCW. I know for non-English people (including me) it would be Wolfenstein Castle, but because it's an English game and we all talk English it's Castle Wolfenstein (even by the English grammar). I don't want to look harsh for you, just would like to get an explanation of it.

Anyways, I know some RTCW community that may support us. That's the S4NDMoD community, their site is www.s4ndmod.com You can contact them on the forum.
Also there's another community which will make an RTCW cup, their name is ClansUnited, their site is www.cu-rtcw.de, they have a forum too.
There are many other communities that want to play tournaments and trying to be active on them. I also guess some of the players always hungry for some real tournaments.

Oh and S4NDMoD can host RTCW 1.0 servers for 1.25/slot.

I dont really understand the concept you are trying to achieve here,

Is it to gain activity for RTCW?
Gain interest in gamersfiles?
Offer an ETcup of some sort, i think someone should decide what to do before proceeding xD

well, i think gamersfiles already had a quite large following, but i dont think these people know that the site is back up and running again,

I think you could get more publicity by just spreading the word G-Files is back.

However I understand what you're trying to do, get the punters to the site. I believe maybe having a server would attract extra people , but this costs resources. The best thing at the minute would be either a small cup ( what about malolats warmupcup ) or just wearing some form of G-files tags and spreading the word

Im going to be running a 4v4 Online tournament for COD: MW2. It will be held after Borotoms Tourney on Decerto. I will be getting round about 50+ teams to join in, i will match them into random groups and they will compete against each other in the team. The winner from the group will come forward and play others from the top of their groups and then will be deciding a winner. I have not thought of the Awards/ prizes yet, so i need ideas?Grin

On the mention of servers I am a gameserverprovider been one for almost two years and if you would like to run a tournament I would be willing to donate he servers needed for the tournament. Heck i might even give the best team thier own server. I built my company on modding games and making the most about them and would love to see a site that is offering the files i worked very hard to get along with some that i never saw before. For example i ma working on a cod4 mod where all the bots are on one side they are smart call in airstrikes out flank and out manuever you. better then humnans. on top of that i am only going to allow so many human players and much more bots. Figure this would be a great way of teaching teamwork and strategy along with preperation for competitions.

however my offer is this. I will donate the servers you need for just about any game that i support no charge. I will put them up a week in advance to make ssure everyone likes them. I am going to talk to PWNAGE.tv about broadcasting the last event and I want to have it shoutcasted.

This Not to say i get nothing out of all this. I get advert from the servers themselves and announcements on the pwnage.tv announcers and the shoutcast plus now all of you know about my company. I am a very easy going guy and want to do this for you. I am currently talking with a l4d2 community to do the same thing. they area tough cookie to talk too.

If you are interested contact me at Tiggers@gameserverfiles.org or visit my site gameserverfiles.org and get my email and personal info there. my xfire is Tiggersbound and my skype if you would like to talk directly is gameserverfiles. i also got vent and teamspeak and a mumble server. there is no way you should not be able to contact me.
